Quentin Pommier started Mundo Reves in 2019 and Thibault Lepoutre joined shortly after. The two frenchman both studied winemaking at Université d’Excellence in Montpellier, France but they didn’t meet until they crossed paths working in Argentina. The two became fast friends and now own and operate their winery which is based in Los Chacayes, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. They work primarily with a 26 hectare vineyard located in eastern Los Chacayes that is all pergola trained. Ten of the hectares are planted to Criolla Chica which are approximately 40 year old vines on average. Most Mendocian Mission Varietals are located in Maipu and Eastern Mendoza at much lower elevations. It is rare to find Criolla Chica (aka Pais/Listan Prieto) in Argentina and even more rare to find it in the cooler microclimates of Western Uco Valley. We currently import two cuvees from Mundo Reves: a still Criolla Chica and a Pet-Nat made from Criolla Chica and Criolla Grande. They currently practice organic farming and are planning to achieve organic certification in 2024.
